An extremely delicate and precise procedure, blepharoplasty should only be performed by an experienced surgeon with extensive technical skill. As a leading facial plastic surgery expert with countless successful procedures, Dr. Sadati is able to reduce the signs of aging on the lower eyelids that concern his patients most.
AN OVERVIEW OF LOWER EYELID SURGERY
Blepharoplasty is an extremely effective way to treat the full scope of aging issues that affect the lower eyelids – including loose or sagging skin, deep lines and wrinkles, drooping lower eyelids, excess fatty deposits that appear as puffiness, and bags under the eyes.
To begin the procedure, Dr. Sadati will administer local anesthesia with twilight sedation to ensure the patient’s comfort and safety. From there, Dr. Sadati will make a precise incision in or around the lower eyelid, through which he will remove excess fat, reduce excess skin and reinforce the surrounding muscles and tendons. Once Dr. Sadati has operated on the lower eyelid to achieve a more refreshed and youthful appearance, he will close the incisions with very fine sutures to minimize scarring.
Immediately following the procedure, some temporary swelling, bruising and irritation is to be expected. To manage the discomfort, Dr. Sadati will prescribe pain medication and direct you to apply cold compresses and lubricating ointment to the treatment area. The final results of lower eyelid surgery will emerge within several weeks, and your youthful new look will last for years.

Eyelid Surgery Before and After PicturesLOWER EYELID INCISION OPTIONS
There are two distinct incision options Dr. Sadati may use for your lower eyelid surgery. Depending on your unique needs and objectives, Dr. Sadati will advise on which option is best to reduce the signs of aging that concern you most.
- External Incision: A precise incision that occurs below the lower lash line, along the skin's natural creases. The most common option, an external incision will leave a well hidden scar, but allows the surgeon to reduce excess skin, as well as remove and reposition lower eyelid fat.
- Internal Incision: A precise incision that occurs inside the surface of the lower eyelid. Although this option does not leave a visible scar, it only allows for the removal and repositioning of lower eyelid fat. If the patient has excess skin that also needs removing, an internal incision will not be appropriate.
